Energy Efficiency
Control of energy used in business has never been as critical as it is now.
Well documented examples of the need to reduce our contribution to the world’s carbon gases in the atmosphere has raised awareness of energy consumption and the need to do something about wastage or to question whether it is actually needed in the first place.
The UK government has committed to a reduction in this country’s carbon emissions of 34% by 2020 and 80% by 2050. It has started to build such requirements into legislation for larger commercial consumers by introducing the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC). Does this affect you?
As the worlds resources start to deplete the need to rely less on fossil-fuel produced energy is also increasing. As global energy demands increase in the developing countries, economics dictate that energy prices will rise over time and remain at higher levels. Given the possibility of resulting future fuel shortages and higher prices, UK businesses will need to manage their electricity, gas and oil consumption closely in order to control costs and remain competitive.
There are a number of ways in which to manage energy consumption:-
Adoption of an Energy Management policy
Employment of energy managers to implement the policy
Installation of energy monitoring equipment software
Fitment of SMART metering – especially for smaller supplies
Our experience and resource can help clients with any of the above initiatives and we are always on hand to discuss how best to go about implementing them.
